2Runaway, written and produced by Heylon is in my opinion the strangest thing I’ve heard from him thus far. It’s also the best thing I’ve heard from him thus far. Creatively this song goes where nothing else has gone before. An acoustic song driven by of all things steel pan. But not just any steel pan, the instrument is played by virtuoso Dane Gulston and that’s not the kicker…
THE KICKER IS for most of song he plays his tenor pan upside down with his bare hands. it gives the instrument bass and drum undertones, and considering that this song has no other instruments this was an ingenious idea.
